Why This Is a Weekend Booking
Nobody drives two hours each way for a four-hour reception. Guests arrive Friday and leave Sunday, which means transport is three separate movements rather than one.
- Friday arrivals — guests up from Boulder and Denver, staggered across the afternoon and evening.
- Saturday on site — the ranch handles most of this, but off-site photographs or activities may need a vehicle held.

Winter Weddings and the Traction Law
Devil’s Thumb is a winter property as much as a summer one, and a snowy wedding there is spectacular. It also means every guest vehicle needs to be legal for the corridor.
CDOT enforces the Passenger Vehicle Traction Law from 1 September to 31 May, and the requirements cover tread depth and tyre type even on all-wheel drive vehicles. Rental cars frequently fall short, and out-of-state guests are the group most likely to be caught.
