Thousands of families, one weekend, one small city. Every hotel full, every restaurant booked, and campus parking that was already tight on an ordinary Tuesday.
The weekend itself is lovely. The logistics are not. CU Boulder Family Weekend transportation is about the three parts that reliably go wrong.
Family Weekend 2026 runs Thursday 15 to Sunday 18 October. The 2027 dates have not been announced; CU typically holds it in October.

Part One: Friday Afternoon at Denver International
Parents fly in across Thursday evening and Friday, which means a concentrated arrival wave into an airport 45 miles away.
Our Denver airport car service is a flat $270 per vehicle with live flight tracking and automatic pickup adjustment. Because the rate covers the vehicle rather than the seat, families travelling together split it.
| Travelling together | Per person |
|---|---|
| 2 parents | $135 |
| 2 parents + 2 siblings | $67.50 |
| 6 (both sets of grandparents) | $45 |
Chauffeurs wait 45 minutes free on domestic arrivals. Meet-and-greet at baggage claim is $135 and worth it for grandparents travelling alone — more on our meet and greet page and the airport transfer page.
Part Two: Campus Parking Does Not Scale
CU restricts vehicle access around campus for major events, and Family Weekend brings thousands of extra cars into a grid that was not built for them.
Visitor permits are limited, the lots fill early, and the walk from wherever you do park is longer than anyone wearing nice shoes expected.
Being dropped at the building is not a luxury that weekend. It is the version of the day that runs on time. Check current visitor parking rules with CU Boulder Parking and Transportation Services before you travel.
Part Three: The Hotel You Could Not Get
Boulder does not have enough rooms for Family Weekend. Plenty of families end up in Louisville, Superior, Broomfield or Westminster.
| Staying in | To campus | Walkable? |
|---|---|---|
| Downtown Boulder | 10–15 min walk | Yes |
| 28th Street corridor | ~10 min drive | No |
| Louisville or Superior | ~20 min drive | No |
| Broomfield or Westminster | 25–30 min drive | No |
If you are in the bottom three rows, every single movement that weekend is a drive. Our Louisville page covers the overflow ring in detail.

If There Is a Home Game
Family Weekend often coincides with a football Saturday, which doubles everything. Folsom Field fills, the campus closes further, and the restaurant you wanted is booked by noon.
A held vehicle covers the whole day — campus in the morning, the game, dinner afterwards. Our Folsom Field page covers game-day access specifically.
Book Hourly, Not Point to Point
A Family Weekend day is six or seven movements. Hotel to campus, campus to lunch, back to campus, to a dinner reservation, back to the hotel.
Booked separately that is six arrangements. Booked by the hour on a four-hour minimum, it is one vehicle that waits while you do whatever you are doing.
A Boulder limo service booking also covers a larger family group in one vehicle rather than two cars, and a Boulder limo service reservation can hold the vehicle across both Saturday and Sunday.

The Vehicles
| Vehicle | Photo | Guests | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| GMC Yukon XL | ![]() | 6 | Parents, siblings, a student |
| Cadillac Escalade ESV | ![]() | 6 | Comfortable airport runs, dinners |
| Mercedes-Benz Sprinter | ![]() | 12 | Extended families, several students |
A Ford Transit High Roof takes fourteen, which covers a family group joining with their student’s housemates and parents. Full specifications on the fleet page.
The Rate
Flat, confirmed in writing before the weekend, with no event premium and no surge. A Boulder car service rate on Family Weekend Saturday is the same as on a quiet Tuesday, which is not true of anything else you will book that weekend.
Every Boulder car service quote covers the vehicle rather than the seat. Published routes sit on the rate card.
Making More of the Trip
Plenty of families extend the weekend. A morning at Chautauqua, a drive up Flagstaff Road, or a half-day to Estes Park at a flat $395.
If it is ski season, Eldora is 45 minutes away and the resorts are a flat $650 — see our ski resort transfers page. A Boulder limo service booking covers those as easily as a campus run.
Mayflower Boulder Limo Chauffeur Service Standards
Mayflower Boulder Limo is certified by the Colorado Public Utilities Commission, carries the highest insurance limits in the state, and holds a ★ 4.97 rating.
Our Boulder chauffeur service runs background-checked chauffeurs with GPS fleet tracking. A Boulder chauffeur service that works campus knows which approaches close for events and where a vehicle can legally stop, and any Boulder chauffeur service running Boulder since 2000 has done twenty-five Family Weekends.

Book Early — This Is Not Negotiable
Family Weekend is one of the three busiest weekends of the Boulder year, alongside graduation and home-game Saturdays. Vehicle availability across the county runs out.
Three to six weeks minimum, and earlier for a Sprinter or Transit. Free cancellation up to 24 hours ahead, so an early booking costs nothing.
Every Boulder transportation service quote is confirmed in writing, and beyond fourteen guests a Boulder transportation service booking runs multiple vehicles on one coordinated itinerary. A Boulder transportation service reservation can cover the full weekend rather than individual legs.
Weather in autumn can turn quickly — every Mayflower Boulder Limo vehicle is four-wheel drive and winter-compliant year-round, and dispatch monitors COtrip.
One weekend. One vehicle. No parking permit. Book your CU Boulder Family Weekend transportation or call (720) 474-8018.
