Breckenridge and Copper Mountain are both targeting Friday 6 November for opening day, conditions permitting. The season starts this week.
Opening weekend is its own thing — limited terrain, maximum enthusiasm, and car parks that fill before the lifts spin. Boulder ski opening weekend transportation is about not spending the first hour of the season looking for a space.

What Is Open and When
| Resort | Target opening | From Boulder |
|---|---|---|
| Breckenridge | 6 November | 1h 50m, flat $650 |
| Copper Mountain | 6 November | 1h 45m, quoted by dispatch |
| Steamboat | Targeting 21 November | 3h, flat $1,100 |
| Beaver Creek | 25 November | 2h 20m, flat $650 |
| Crested Butte | 25 November | Quoted by dispatch |
| Eldora | November, date to be confirmed | 45 min, flat $800 |
Every date is conditions permitting and subject to change. Check with each resort before you travel — opening days move with the snow, and an announcement is not a guarantee.
Why Opening Weekend Is Busier Than the Terrain Justifies
Early season means a handful of runs open off one or two lifts. The whole Front Range turns up anyway, because the season has started.
Which concentrates everyone into a small base area with the same parking as a full-terrain Saturday. Lots fill early, overflow is further out, and the walk back in November is cold.
Being dropped at the base removes it. So does not driving back down I-70 afterwards.
The Traction Law Is Already in Force
This catches people on opening weekend every year. CDOT’s Passenger Vehicle Traction Law applies on the I-70 corridor from 1 September to 31 May — it has been in force for two months already.
The requirements cover tread depth and tyre type even on all-wheel drive vehicles, and early-season drivers are the most likely to be caught because the roads look clear at the bottom.
Every Mayflower Boulder Limo vehicle is four-wheel drive and compliant year-round. Check COtrip before you leave.

The Rate
Flat, confirmed in writing, and the same on opening day as on a quiet Tuesday in March. No opening-weekend premium, no surge, no meter running in a tunnel queue.
Breckenridge, Vail and Beaver Creek are $650 per vehicle, Steamboat $1,100, Eldora $800. Mountain routes include one complimentary 15-minute stop. Every figure sits on the rate card and our pricing page.
Because a Boulder car service rate covers the vehicle rather than the seat, six people split $650 for Breckenridge. A flat Boulder car service quote does not move because it is opening day.
The Vehicles
| Vehicle | Photo | Seats | Skiers with gear |
|---|---|---|---|
| GMC Yukon XL | ![]() | 6 | 4–5 with gear |
| Mercedes-Benz Sprinter | ![]() | 12 | 9–10 with gear |
| Ford Transit High Roof | ![]() | 14 | 11–12 with gear |
Gear decides the vehicle, not headcount — our sizing guide explains why. Full specifications on the fleet page.
The Early Start Nobody Enjoys Driving
Opening weekend rewards arriving early, which means leaving Boulder around five in the morning.
That is considerably easier when you can sleep on the way up and decompress on the way down, and when nobody in the group has to stay off the beer at the base.
Book the Season, Not the Weekend
If you ski regularly, this is the point to arrange the winter rather than booking each Saturday.
A Boulder limo service account can hold vehicles across a season of Saturdays for a club or company — see our corporate travel page. Our 2026/27 season planner covers the booking windows month by month.
Mayflower Boulder Limo Chauffeur Service Standards
Mayflower Boulder Limo is certified by the Colorado Public Utilities Commission, carries the highest insurance limits in the state, and holds a ★ 4.97 rating.
Our Boulder chauffeur service runs background-checked, mountain-trained chauffeurs with GPS fleet tracking. A Boulder chauffeur service that drives I-70 weekly knows which side of the tunnel meters first, and any Boulder chauffeur service running this corridor since 2000 has done twenty-five opening weekends.

Booking
This weekend is short notice, so call rather than booking online — (720) 474-8018 — and we will tell you honestly what is available.
For the rest of November, three to seven days is comfortable. Thanksgiving week needs two weeks, and the large vehicles go first.
Every Boulder transportation service quote is confirmed in writing with free cancellation up to 24 hours ahead. Our full mountain work sits on the ski resort transfers page.
The season starts Friday. Do not spend it parking. Book your opening weekend transfer or call (720) 474-8018.
