Most people assume booking individual trips is cheaper than hiring a vehicle for hours. For a single transfer, it is.
Past about three movements it stops being true, and the gap widens fast. Boulder hourly car service is worth understanding before you book a day as separate legs.

What Hourly Actually Means
You are booking a vehicle and a chauffeur for a block of time rather than a journey. The vehicle stays with you — waiting between stops, parked nearby, moving when you are ready.
Four-hour minimum. That is the standard across the industry and it is ours.
The clock covers waiting. That is not a catch, it is the product. You are paying for the vehicle to be available rather than for distance covered.
The rate is flat, agreed in writing before the day, with no surge and no overtime surprise.
The Crossover Point
| Your day | Better structure | Why |
|---|---|---|
| 1 trip each way | Point to point | Two clean legs, nothing held |
| 2 movements | Point to point, usually | Still cheaper as separate legs |
| 3 movements | Hourly | Crossover — waiting beats re-booking |
| 4+ movements | Hourly | No contest |
| Any day with an unknown end | Hourly | Nothing to renegotiate |
Three is the number to remember. Below it, book legs. Above it, hold the vehicle.
The Hidden Cost of Booking Legs
Separate bookings look cheaper on paper because each one is a smaller number. What they do not price is the gaps.
A leg booked for 7pm assumes dinner ends at 7pm. When it ends at 7:40, you are either waiting for a vehicle that is not there yet or paying for one that arrived and waited.
Hourly removes the assumption entirely. Nothing needs predicting, so nothing goes wrong when the prediction is off.
What People Book Hourly
- Weddings. Ceremony, photographs, reception, guest shuttles — our weddings page covers the day.
- Brewery and wine routes. Several stops with no schedule, covered on our tour comparison.
- Business days. Multiple meetings with overruns built in — see our roadshow page.
- Nights out. Dinner, a venue, somewhere after.
- Event shuttles. A loop between a hotel and a venue.
- Festival and concert days. The vehicle waits while you do not watch a pin.

How to Book It Properly
Give dispatch the shape of the day rather than exact times. The first pickup, roughly where you are going, and a sense of when you expect to finish.
We build the itinerary from that and confirm it in writing. If the day runs differently, the chauffeur adjusts rather than you rebooking.
One practical point: if you genuinely know your day runs six hours, book six rather than four and extending. Extending on the night depends on whether the vehicle is free afterwards, and on a Saturday it frequently is not.

The Per-Head Point
Rates cover the vehicle rather than the seat, which is what makes hourly work for groups.
Twelve people splitting one Sprinter for an evening pay a fraction each of what twelve individual journeys would cost — and they arrive together, which is usually the actual reason for booking.
Published figures sit on our pricing page and the rate card. A Boulder limo service quote for an hourly day comes back the same day you ask, and a Boulder limo service booking covers every stop agreed in advance.
When Point to Point Is Right
Airport transfers, almost always. A single journey each way at a published flat rate, with flight tracking and free wait time built in.
Our Denver airport car service is a flat $270 per vehicle, and a Denver airport car service quote is flat whatever time you land — hourly would cost more and achieve nothing. See the airport transfer page.
Mayflower Boulder Limo Chauffeur Service Standards
Mayflower Boulder Limo is certified by the Colorado Public Utilities Commission, carries the highest insurance limits in the state, and holds a ★ 4.97 rating.
Our Boulder chauffeur service runs background-checked chauffeurs with GPS fleet tracking. A Boulder chauffeur service on an hourly booking knows where to wait near each stop, and any Boulder chauffeur service running Boulder since 2000 knows which blocks allow a fourteen-seat vehicle to hold.
Every vehicle is four-wheel drive and winter-compliant year-round, and dispatch monitors COtrip through storm cycles.

Booking
Weeknights need 24 to 48 hours. Weekend evenings need three to seven days. Weddings, events and peak season need four to eight weeks, and the large vehicles go first.
Every Boulder car service quote is confirmed in writing with free cancellation up to 24 hours ahead, and a flat Boulder car service rate does not change afterwards. Beyond fourteen passengers, a Boulder transportation service booking runs multiple vehicles on one coordinated itinerary, and every Boulder transportation service quote covers the whole group in a single number.
Our booking guide covers the process end to end.
Three stops is the line. Above it, hold the vehicle. Book your Boulder hourly car service or call (720) 474-8018.
