Christmas week lodging at Vail and Aspen fills nine to twelve months ahead. If you have a room, you booked it a while ago.
Ground transport works differently. It fills later, faster, and all at once — which is why so many people with a confirmed room end up without a way to reach it. Boulder holiday ski transfer booking is the piece that gets left until it is genuinely too late.

The Calendar, Working Backwards
| When | What happens | Your move |
|---|---|---|
| 12 months out | Vail and Aspen holiday lodging opens and fills | Book the room |
| 90 days out | Large vehicles start going for holiday dates | Book the transfer |
| 60 days out | Sprinters and Transits largely gone | SUVs only, if you are lucky |
| 30 days out | Single vehicles on peak days | Take what is available |
| 7 days out | Peak-day availability effectively zero | Drive yourself |
Ninety days is the number that matters. Not because we say so, but because that is when a fixed number of vehicles meets a concentrated fortnight of demand across the entire Front Range.
The Peak Days, Named
Not all of December is equal. These are the dates that disappear first.
- 23–24 December — arrivals. Everybody travelling on the same two days.
- 26 December — the biggest ski day of the year in Colorado.
- 27–30 December — sustained peak, and the Ikon Base Pass is blacked out across this exact window.
- 31 December — New Year’s Eve, competing with every restaurant and party in the state.
- 1–2 January — departures, plus the year’s worst eastbound I-70 traffic.
That Ikon Base blackout matters more than people expect. It pushes pass holders toward Loveland and window tickets, which spreads demand across more destinations rather than reducing it.
The Rates Do Not Move
This is the whole reason to book early rather than gamble. No holiday premium, no surge multiplier, no per-minute meter on a day when I-70 crawls for four hours.
| Destination | Distance | Flat rate |
|---|---|---|
| Denver International | 45 mi | $270 |
| Breckenridge | 98 mi | $650 |
| Vail Village | 118 mi | $650 |
| Beaver Creek | 128 mi | $650 |
| Steamboat Springs | 172 mi | $1,100 |
| Aspen | 218 mi | $1,250 |
Every Boulder car service quote is confirmed in writing before you ride, and a flat Boulder car service rate on 26 December is the same as on a quiet Tuesday in March. Mountain routes include one complimentary 15-minute stop. Full rate card here.

Family Groups Are the Whole Problem
Holiday ski trips are not two people with carry-ons. They are grandparents, cousins, three sets of skis, a snowboard, gift bags and a child seat.
| Vehicle | Photo | Guests | Gear |
|---|---|---|---|
| GMC Yukon XL | ![]() | 6 | 6 bags |
| Cadillac Escalade ESV | ![]() | 6 | 6 bags |
| Mercedes-Benz Sprinter | ![]() | 12 | 12 bags |
Child seats are available at $20 each. A Ford Transit High Roof takes fourteen, and beyond that a Boulder transportation service booking runs multiple vehicles on one itinerary so the family arrives together. Every Boulder transportation service quote covers the whole party in one number. See the fleet page.
Arrivals Are the Harder Half
Relatives fly in across 22–24 December on a dozen different flights. That is a scheduling problem, not a booking problem.
Our Denver airport car service tracks each flight live and adjusts pickups automatically, with 45 minutes of free wait time on domestic arrivals and 60 on international. A Denver airport car service quote is flat at $270 whatever time anyone lands, and meet-and-greet at baggage claim with a name sign is $135 — useful for grandparents arriving alone. Details on the airport transfer page.
Traction Law and Christmas Weather
CDOT enforces the Passenger Vehicle Traction Law from 1 September to 31 May on the I-70 corridor, and the rules cover tread depth and tyre type even on all-wheel drive vehicles. Rental fleets frequently fall short, and holiday visitors are the group most likely to be caught.
Every Mayflower Boulder Limo vehicle is four-wheel drive and compliant year-round. Dispatch monitors COtrip through storm cycles and will move a pickup earlier rather than let you find out at the tunnel.
Mayflower Boulder Limo Chauffeur Service Standards
Mayflower Boulder Limo is certified by the Colorado Public Utilities Commission, carries the highest insurance limits in the state, and holds a ★ 4.97 rating.
Our Boulder chauffeur service runs background-checked, mountain-trained chauffeurs with GPS fleet tracking. A Boulder chauffeur service that works the holiday fortnight knows a 26 December departure needs a two-hour buffer, and any Boulder chauffeur service running these roads since 2000 has done this every Christmas for a quarter century.

Book Both Legs Together
The return is the one people forget, and 1–2 January eastbound is the worst traffic of the year. Booking one leg solves half a problem.
Free cancellation up to 24 hours before pickup, so an early booking costs nothing if plans change. A Boulder limo service reservation also covers New Year’s Eve dinners and mountain celebrations via our special events page, and a Boulder limo service account bills monthly for corporate holiday travel through our corporate travel page.
Our full mountain work sits on the ski resort transfers page, and the full-season planner on our 2026/27 ski shuttle guide.
Ninety days. That is the window. Book your Boulder holiday ski transfer now or call (720) 474-8018.
